| Aug 6 Ribbon Cutting - PBR Capital Group & City of North Sioux City |
Join us as PBR Capital Group and the City of North Sioux City celebrate the grand opening of the Union Crossing Housing Development. Tour of homes and a lunch will be served following the ribbon cutting.
In 2022 a group of local business owners, recognized the desperate need for affordable housing in South Dakota, specifically North Sioux City. Those (5) individuals organized and created PBR Capital Group, LLC. The sole purpose at that time was to create a development that would meet the housing and rental needs of the 93% (2,886) of the NSC workforce identified in the 2022 Comprehensive Housing Study that commuted to work in NSC everyday because housing was not available. The effort included supporting NSC's local businesses who had voiced frustration with recruiting and retaining employees, due to the housing shortage in NSC. The creation of affordable housing and achieving the American dream of home ownership is being realized currently by 7 new home owners awaiting completion of their home, with many more to come. New residents are moving into the Prairie Dunes Apartments this month. |

Panelists will discuss successful initiatives from their respective states, the impact tourism has on local economies, and how businesses can help promote tourism and strengthen the region.
The program will also feature a local update from Explore Siouxland Executive Director Stacie Anderson, who will highlight the organization's efforts to promote the region and share how Explore Siouxland serves as a valuable resource for businesses through marketing, visitor services, partnerships, and regional promotion.
Attendees will also learn how tourism and economic development directly affect local businesses—regardless of industry—and why investing in quality-of-life amenities, attractions, and community experiences benefits the entire region.

Join us on Thursday, September 3 at 6:00 PM at the Siouxland Chamber (101 Pierce St.) or via Zoom for an informational meeting to learn more about our trip to Spain. Please register for the meeting and a Zoom link will be included in the confirmation email.
This fully escorted trip is available to Chamber members and non-members. The highlights of the trip include Granada, Alhambra Palace, Generalife, Mijas, Seville, Plaza de Espana, Maria Luisa Park, Seville Cathedral, La Giralda, Cordoba, Gibraltar, and Ronda. The trip departs from Omaha's Eppley Airfield (OMA) on Tuesday, October 19, 2027 and returns Wednesday, October 27, 2027.
